For a year and a half, I was in bed in constant pain 24/7. Within three months of treatment here, I started working again. It was a complete turnaround.

Condition // Spinal Cord Injury

What led you to Pain Management NYC?

When I was about 19 or 20 years old, I was in a head-on car collision that left me with a spinal cord injury and RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). I saw orthopedists and neurologists for months, undergoing procedures every single day, but they reached a point where they didn’t have the medical technology to help me further. They recommended me to Dr. Elbaz, knowing he specialized in the advanced treatments I needed.

What was your life like before the procedure?

It was devastating. For about a year and a half after the accident, I was pretty much bedridden. I was in constant pain 24/7. We tried one last procedure to see if I would respond, but when that wasn’t enough, we discussed the option of a spinal cord stimulator.

How was your treatment plan structured?

Dr. Elbaz is a great doctor who truly listens to your situation and comes up with a medical plan that works specifically for you. Because of the extent of my injuries, they ended up implanting two stimulators—one in the cervical (neck) area and one in the lower lumbar area. His competence and deep knowledge of the field gave me the confidence to move forward with such a high-tech solution.

How has your life changed since the implantation?

The results were incredible. I would say within three months of getting the stimulators, I started working again. I went from being stuck in bed to having my life back. I’ve been seeing Dr. Elbaz for almost 20 years now, and I have recommended many friends to him over the years. If you are facing a situation where other doctors have run out of options, this is where you need to be.
