My original surgeon said I was fine, but I knew something was wrong. Dr. Dvoskin didn’t just listen to me—he showed me the truth on the MRI. My health is finally back on track.

Patient Stories – Louise

Condition // Failed Spinal Fusion

What led you to seek a second opinion at Pain Management NYC?

I had spinal fusion surgery in 2021, followed by a second surgery in 2022. Two and a half years later, my lumbar spine still hadn’t healed. I kept going back to my original surgeon telling him I was in pain, but he just kept saying, “You’re fine, you’re still healing.” I knew in my gut that wasn’t the case. My attorney referred me to Dr. Dvoskin in 2021, and I finally went to see him for a real answer.

How did Dr. Dvoskin approach your diagnosis differently?

The difference was immediate. Dr. Dvoskin sent me for a series of detailed scans—MRIs and MYRs. When he looked at the results, he didn’t just brush me off. He said, “This doesn’t look right.” He actually sat me down and showed me the images. I could see it for myself: the screws were loose. They had never fused to my bone at all. While my other doctor was telling me I was “fine,” Dr. Dvoskin was showing me why I was actually in pain.

What makes this practice stand out to you?

It is a rare thing to find nowadays, but this team is actually concerned about you. They don’t just talk; they do right by you. They listen to your complaints, validate your pain with facts, and then make sure you get to the right people for treatment. In a world where doctors often rush you out, their level of care is very rare.

What is your advice to others who feel their recovery isn’t going well?

I tell anybody: come see Dr. Dvoskin. Come see this group. Your health will finally start to get on track because they actually pay attention. If you feel like something is wrong and your current doctor isn’t listening, don’t wait. This team will find the truth and help you move forward.
